Question: I have ITP and I was given prednisone (80mg/day) and responded well. Platelets went from 18 to 149 in a week. Then it tapered off 70 and 60 mg/day and platelets went below. Does 10 mg of prednisone really make that much of a difference?

Brief Answer:
Dosage

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking

During the therapy the doctor can change the dosage of medication, but this is related to the disease progression.
Your doctor can decrease or increase your medication dosage.

Of course 10 mg of prednisone can make a difference. In this case your doctor will give you the dosage of medication you had before

Best regards
