I Had Some Abnormal Blood Work Come Back From An

Question: I had some abnormal blood work come back from an ER visit. The doctor there didn’t really examine me or explain my results after they came in. When looking at my CBC panel my WBC was 19,900, Monocyte was 1700 and IG was at 100. Everything else was in normal range. I’m trying to decide if I need immediate intervention or some sort or if I can wait a week or two to see rheumatology. I did have a 125mg prednisone shot 2 days ago, which I know can make the results be high, but my wife who’s a nurse is worried about the results where I was on Humira which can cause leukemia.

I read your query and here is my advice.

I see the results of tests you are writing and your leukocytes are high and monocyte are high. Ig is normal. The prednisone shot is known to lower the count at first day then increase in slightly but not that much.
Please do a mononucleosis test because even mononucleosis can cause these changes.
Then you may visit a haematologist because even leukemia may be possible.
