Brief Answer:
can increase in viral infections, usually goes back down

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It's good that your lab work was normal.

Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell. Other types include neutrophils, monocytes, eosiniphils, basophils- results for these types would have also likely shown up on your form.

Lymphocytes are most commonly between 20 to 40% but they can typically increase temporarily with viral infections

Neutrophils typically go up with bacterial infections

The increase in lymphocytes mean that the infection may have at least started out viral even if a bacteria was present in the end (needed z pak for resolution- this is used for bacterial infections).

Other than indicating the possible presence of viral infection, it would not usually be a problem especially if the total white cell count is normal.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
