Question: I had blood tests and my feratin level was high, it was 201 and 212 I can’t remember what one came first.

The doctor was repeated it twice and still doesn’t know what is up,
I have low vitamin d, low vitamin b12 and been through a very stressful time lately.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

Brief Answer:
If there aren't any symptoms then nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

I am not sure why these tests were done. If you don't have any symptoms of inflammation and just the ferritin is high, I would not worry to much. It's a highly nonspecific test. Just follow it up every 6 months or so.

The b12 and vitD needs to be corrected as advised.

Hope this helps.
Regards

The test was done because I was complaining off pains all over feeling tired etc, but nothing overly worrying.

Can you just have a bit off inflammation for nothing?

Brief Answer:
This level doesn't warrant further evaluation

Detailed Answer:
If other parameters including serum iron and transferrin saturation are normal (which excludes iron overload), then this ferritin level by itself doesn't warrant further investigations. Not always it is related to inflammation.

If it's more than 1000 then definitely evaluation is needed.
