I Had A Olonoscopy On Wednesday Which Went Well. I

Question: I had a olonoscopy on Wednesday which went well. I have not had a decent BM yet. It is soft, but not verymuch at all sometimes just little pieces. I get an urge like I have togo, and then not verymuch comes out. Is that normal ? I have been eating regular. I usually take a stool softner. Don%E2%80%99t know if I should try taking that again, or wait until I have a more normal movemen? Anything else I can do to move it along? I am letting out gas which is good I think.

I read your query and here is my advice.

I think this is normal after a colonoscopy.
You have been long without eating and having only liquids so this is normal to happen after colonoscopy.
Also during colonoscopy air is induced to keep it open so you are bloated and have gas . It can cause an urge to go.
You can take the laxatives you usually take. Also a fiber rich diet or over the counter fiber supplements are recommended.
Continue to eat regularly and have plenty of water.
Don't use much fruit juices.
Having a walk or moving around is also good.
