Question: I had a Semen analysis showing Pseudomonas aeruginosa. After consulting a local urologist he adviced urine culture. It showed same bacteria but as insignificant growth. My partner had an ectopic pregnancy. So will my bacterial growth lead to any infection in my partner's reproductive system?

Brief Answer:
Unprotected sex may transmit the infection to your wife.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query ,
Based on the facts that you have posted your Semen analysis has revealed infection with Pseudomonas Aerogenosa bacteria .It is highly likely you may transmit the infection through unprotected sex .I would suggest you to get semen culture done and take appropriate antibiotics as per culture report for 4 weeks .Till then ensure you have protected sex to avoid infection being transmitted to your wife.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions, I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Brief Answer:
Semen and Urine are two different fluids and have significance of culture.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .

Urine and Semen are two different fluids which are produced by different organs.
Urine is produced by Kidnet and so infection of any organ of urinary system such as Kidney ,ureter or Bladder is detected by doing urine culture .
Where as Semen constitutes secretions from three organs such as Sperms by testicles,Seminal fluid by Seminal Vesiclesand Prostatic fluid secretd by Prostate hence infection of any of these organs is detected by doing Semen culture so that infection can be treated with appropriate antibiotics.
I can not comment on why Urologist suggested not to take antibiotics .

If you have sensitivity report of Semen please upload complete report so that I can make precise suggestions regarding taking antibiotics.
Thanks and Regards.
