Hello,

Thank you for your query,

Taking in consideration you family history and back pain since few years, you need more complex investigations.

Suddenly nasal bleeding can be from local cases - nose blowing, polyps or general - high blood pressure. Coagulations and blood disorders - that is very unlikely in your case as you stated this bleeding only recently and just since two days.

Regarding you back pain that lasts few years and migrate from shoulder to hip; definitely you need X-ray or Computed Tomography (CT) scan and neurological exam, additionally blood work – Complete Blood Count, coagulation profile, Liver function test and Biochemistry. I cannot relate any organic medical cause to be causing the back ache without these investigations. Above mentioned set of investigations will help you understand your condition and rule out any hidden disorder.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additionally queries, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Take care and good luck.

Hello and thanks again,

It is difficult to predict the true cause of nasal bleeding without a clinical examination and proper investigations. I had suggested a few close possibilities in my earlier reply.

If I were to be your treating physician, I wouldn't be concerned with a single episode of nasal bleed. I would however monitor your nasal secretions for a few days. Avoid blowing nose and don’t use any cotton swab. If the episodes recur, we can proceed evaluating you for causes.

Hypertension is one of the common causes of nasal bleed and headache. It needs to be ruled out. When you get to XXXXXXX your physician, you can ask him to check the pressure and confirm about it. Normal blood pressure range is 120/80 mmHg.

It is possible that the headache, numbness around nose is correlated with your chronicle migrating pain, and in this case neurological assessment will be best choice.

I noted that your last lab work was five years ago, so I believe you need repeat above mentioned tests.

The raised total count during the child birth on the last thanks giving is not related to the present nasal bleeding.

Hope I was able to address all your concern. If you have additionally queries, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Take care and good luck
