I Am Having A Mild Pain Towards Little Left Side

default
Posted on Thu, 29 Oct 2020
Question: I am having a mild pain towards little left side from the centre, exactly at the edge/above but its near left side of my breast. I felt that may be i was wearing too tight brassiere thats why i got that slight pinching pain. The pain is mild but similar to something when you get during breast feeding when you get hard lumps due to too much of breast milk and it pains. Its been a day i have not wore brassiere thinking the pain will go but its the same. When i press near that area i get a pain but i don't feel any lumps. Is this something i need to worry about?

Brief Answer:
follow the advice, observe how stay afterward...

Detailed Answer:
Hello there,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...

Well, the pain could be due to immediate injury to the musculoskeletal system, for symptomatic relief, apply some cold compression over the area three to four times daily for the next 24-48hrs...

Additionally, take rest...avoid any manipulation to the area, sit in an upright posture and, take a mild painkiller i.e. Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg twice daily after some food and an antacid Cap PANTOPRAZOLE 40mg once daily before breakfast for the next 2-3 days...

If despite this, pain continues, or you notice any additional symptoms like breathing difficulty, any increase in chest pain, excessive sweating/palpitations, any persistently increasing swelling, etc, then you need to get yourself thoroughly examined by a Chest Physician as well as get some investigations done (e.g CBC, Chest X-ray, 12 lead ECG, etc.), management can be done based on the findings...

Kind Regards
