Question: I am a 62-yo married, White female. I have had symptoms of a cold for 5 or 6 days (sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, occasional dry cough. For the last 2 days, my left eye has been sore to the touch and today I woke up with mild facial swelling on the left side of my face. Lips, cheek, eye. I have pain on left side of my face, jaw, and head, as well. What might be going on? I have also had an itchy red rash on the left side of my chest that appeared when I was in ketosis from my diet. (I am not diabetic.) I stopped the diet and the rash has been clearing.

Brief Answer:
Could be shingles, keep it under observation

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and it could be shingles.
I would recommend you to keep it under observation as you might develop some blisters and bumps on the affected areas in the next few days.
Meanwhile you can continue with your pain relieving medicine.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
