I Am A 40 Year Old Female. 6'1" Tall, 160

Question: I am a 40 year old female. 6'1" tall, 160 lbs....healthy. I noticed about a week ago a very small bruise on my upper left breast. Not purple or pink bruise, just a standard brown bruise. Not usually dark, light brown. I'm horrible about getting on Google to check thing out and so I ran across inflammatory breast cancer as a culprit for bruising on the breast. So now I am all freaked out. I don't remember hitting myself there, but then again I bruise rather easily so I know I could of hit myself there carrying around things at work. I DO NOT have any other symptoms like inflammation, swelling, pain, dimpling, rashes.....so I know I'm probably jumping to wrong conclusions on this but I would rather be self aware than to let things go. So my question is should I go see my regular gyno about this?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to a mild injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A small bruise that is brownish in color is likely to disappear in a week or so. The bruise can be due to a mild injury during the work. Since there is no pain or any associated swelling in the area this is not likely to be related to any cancer. It is better to self monitor it for a week and see if it fades away on its own. In case the bruise is persistent or increases in size of number then do consider consulting your gynecologist for a direct examination and a few blood tests.
