I Am A 27 Yearold Male. I Have A Connective

Question: I am a 27 yearold male. I have a connective tissue disorder, no firm diagnosis. I spent 2 weeks at Mayo Clinic in XXXXXXX MN tgree years ago, and the vest diagnosis they gave me was that my condition is like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Type 3 (hypermobility). My main symptoms have presented in my shoulders but also other joints. I have had 2 SLAP Tear repairs on my left shoulder and 5 surgeries on my right shoulder. Two were SLAP repairs, two were Biceps Tendon repairs and one was Rotator Cuff repair. My shoulders are too loose and dislocate and sublux multiple times a day. This causes chronic pain and arthritis which is treated with opiates. My pain management doctor had me speak with an orthopedic surgeon about a reverse shoulder replacement. The ortho told me that I am far to young to start having joints replaced. He said if I see enough surgeons, eventually I would find one tha would do it, but that I should leave the office and report the doctor to the medical board.

My question is, are there any treatments, surguries, or therapies that are less common that might help me? I have done physical therapy, massage, chiropractics, accupuncture, as well as other drug treatment regimines that have not helped. So is there anything that I might be missing?

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

If you have multiple shoulder instability episodes then you need Bankarts repair.

Replacement may not be an option at your younger age.

Do consult regarding Bankarts and Hill Sachs repair.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
