Question: I am 48 years old female.
2 years back I started getting irregular periods for which I approached gynaec. While checking my blood pressure, she observed that it was on higher side and asked me to go to a general physican and get it checked. She mentioned it could be due to fluctuating Estrogen levels. I never had any BP issue so far.
I met physician and he gave me Prolomet XL 50mg daily once in the morning which I am taking since Feb 2018.
Since last 10 days, I noticed that during early morning times, I feel restless, pain in my temple area on head and fast moving blood flow under skin. I felt it could be due to BP and took reading at home and it was around 170/92. After couple of days, it automatically subsided.
SInce yday and today morning, I am feeling the same. Though it is not continuous I am a bit concerned. I practice breathing to reduce the BP symptoms.
Can you suggest what could be the reason for this and how to fix this BP issue? I cannot go to hospital due to Covid situation.
Pls suggest suitable remedy.

Brief Answer:
It might be essential hypertension.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.

In most cases, we can not find any cause for elevated blood pressure and we call it essential hypertension.

In your case, the symptoms may be due to a sudden increase in blood pressure.
Anxiety is an important factor for high BP. Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Restrict salt intake and do simple physical exercise.

You can monitor the blood pressure and make a BP chart, if the BP is persistently high additional drugs may be required.

Thanks
