How To Test For HIV After A Sexual Encounter?

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Sep 2014
Question: Hey

doctor recently I had not anal sex exactly....as I barely penetrated but rubbing of genitals...but yup I did perform oral sex with partner....so I'm worried as it was unprotected would I be hiv positive.....I'd antibody test within 24hrs but I got to know that it could be a false negetive....

I'm totally confused over this issue. But I'm not circumcised and also seems to have cuts I guess..phimosis I guess.....I pee after 30 min of activity...not exactly after....

I don't know if its symptoms but maybe just the curiosity and anxiety turning my thinking towards the question whether I'm infected.
I asked the partner who denied infected and consistent health conscious as clamied by the partner.

now if you can advice me....it would be much of a help....one more query that is it possible that rubbing of genitals open access to HIV...or deeper penetration is pre - requisite condition......I'm sure partners blood didn't transfused with mine....

please help me...I'm feeling terrible....and what is the most earlier test that can detect HIV after date of infection accurately or with required wieghtage....

Brief Answer:
Most unlikely to get HIV infection.PCR test.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
The chance of transmission by vaginal route unprotected is 1 in 200 to 1 in 2000.
You have no contact with secretions at all nor with blood. Just rubbing there is no chance of HIV infection transmission.
If you have wound or ulcer and it has come in contact with blood or secretions there are little chances.here none so no chance almost.
Oral transmission is almost nil.
So you can relax about HIV.
If you still want to relieve your anxiety. You can go for HIV RNA PCR test which is accurate after 10- 14 days of exposure.
You can get back for clarification .
Thank you

Hello

thank you doctor....but I penetrated her anal say for less then 5 sec and only head could penetrate as I can remember....but that was very short duration.....ive cuts on my penis as I can tell.......what worries me is that such a brief encounter can transmit hiv?....morover I remember she used lubrication but cannot be sure enough. Maximum I could penetrate was anus...I didn't reached far into rectum...and she was transsexual.

I've been virgin all my life and this happened. Partner is definitely commercial sex worker...what XXXXXXX I can know abt her. But she denies having hiv.

This confusion is so pathetic that eventually I can't concentrate and anxiety is dormant as of now.

if one has weak immune system if one's smoking then how fast can one test for hiv.....

Brief Answer:
unlikely HIV transmission.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
If anal penetration is there there is slight risk more than vaginal intercourse.if she is negative for sure there is no chance of HIV.All inter course do not lead to HIV.You may mostly have fungal infection as you are telling some cuts in penis.wipe with warm water twice daily. Apply topical clotrimazole cream twice daily.
You can allay fears of HIV.
Still to rule out HIV and your anxiety.you can go for HIV RNA PCR test .
Smoking does not exacerbate transmission of HIV.nor weak immunity can increase transmission.
