Brief Answer: Detailed explanation provided. Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to HCM, I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries. I completely understand your problem and also the need for termination of pregnancy. However there are certain precautions that must be exercised before using the abortificient drugs. These drugs are associated with adverse effects and cannot be used unless under direct medical supervision. The kit contains mifepristone and misoprostol, both used to cause abortion. They act within a very small time frame of upto maximum 9 weeks and hence must be used before this. The dose varies by gestation. Also the most feared complication against the use of these drugs is inadvertent use in women having an ectopic pregnancy or pregnancy in tubes. If they are taken by such women, they lead to severe bleeding inside the abdomen. Hence an examination by a gynecologist is must before their use to accurately date the pregnancy and also rule out ectopic pregnancy. If these two are in place the drugs safely cause abortion in 99% cases. 1-2% may need an surgical procedure due to incomplete abortion or failure of the drugs to act. Again for this an access to a gynec hospital is needed. The dose is usually 600 mg of mifepristone followed 48 hours later by 400 mcg misoprostol. But there are different regimens and dose may need adjustment according to gestation so must be prescribed by a registered practitioner after examination. These are the safest drugs when used properly under supervision. Other method is a direct surgical abortion under anesthesia by a skilled gynecologist. It is quick and completed in a few minutes and you may be discharged on the same day. I suggest that you must first see a gynecologist, get the dates and location of pregnancy confirmed [ by ultrasound if needed] and discuss the options with the doctor and then take the drugs. This is the safest way. Hope this was able to answer your query. I am here for any further questions. Thanks for using HCM. Have a good day. Dr Nilajkumar Bagde Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology

Brief Answer: Unable to provide prescription info without examin Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX I am sorry as it is not possible to provide prescription information for such sensitive drugs on this site as it is not legal. I hope you will understand this. You will need a prescription by a doctor after all the formalities are completed as the MTP act refrains us from using these drugs without proper documentation. I hope you will understand and co operate with me. Please get an examination and localize and date the pregnancy before taking the drugs for your own safety. Thanks for the query.
