Brief Answer:
It is a pain killer.

Detailed Answer:
It is used to alleviate pain, it is a pain killer. It only alleviates pain, it doesn't address the cause of pain.

It is not to be used lightly, at least not on a regular basis because one of its ingredients Oxycodone is an opioid pain killer and as such it carries the possibility of creating addiction and abuse.
The other ingredient Acetaminophen (might know it otherwise as paracetamol, or under the brand name of Tylenol) is safe, but Oxycodone component makes it a drug which use must be carefully considered.
