Hi

Thanks for your query.

I think that you have low immunity that is causing repeated attacks of cold.
It can also be allergy, a chronic respiratory infection, tonsillitis.
Since it is recurring, asthma should also be considered.
A history of smoking may be responsible too.

Get your blood tests done. The tests may include the complete blood count, ESR. It should also include immunoglobulin levels in the blood. Low immunoglobulin A levels can cause recurrent infections of respiratory tract. High immunoglobulin E levels are suggestive of allergies and hypersensitivities. Rapid antigen tests are available for some organisms. Talk to your doctor about it.

I will advise the following:

Watch out for triggers like cold air, exercise, environmental pollutants, etc.
Check if anti-allergics work for you.
Supportive medicine for fever and discomfort will help you.
Include fruits and fresh vegetables in your diet.
Drink clean water and take hygienic food.
Frequent intake of fluid helps relieve the irritated throat.

There is a wide range of medicines available for colds and allergies. It is better to figure out the cause first and then get a specific prescription for medicine. A trial of antibiotics is not recommended as the cause is usually viral or allergic.

Hope I helped. Let me know if I can assist you further.
