How To Decrease The Dosage Of Zyprexa?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Jun 2016
Question: Hi again friend.

Your last answer was not complete in my opinion because i asked "what is the most that i can lower my Zyprexa dose in one step safely ?"

you just said it was ok to lower by 2,5 mg in one step. you did not say that 2,5 mg is the most that i can lower in one step safely.

So is 2,5 mg the most that i can lower my Zyprexa oral dose in one step safely or is it safe to lower by more than that in one step ?

i dont mind breaking the tablets. i'd rather reduce faster and break the tablets than not break them and reduce slower. the most i'm willing to break them is 2,5 mg tablet into 4 pieces. so that is 0,625 mg.

so am i asking is lowering by 3,125 mg in one step safe ?

is lowering by 3,75 mg in one step safe ?

is lowering by 4,375 mg in one step safe ?

is lowering by 5 mg in one step safe ?

is lowering by 5,625 mg in one step safe ?

is lowering by 6,25 mg in one step safe ?

ok i think thats enough. sorry for the many questions. i'm just checking my safe options.

(all these are with 0,625 mg difference.)

i think you get my question completely now :)

again, i am 27 years old not 28 years old.

thanks alot. your very appreciated. :)

Brief Answer:
4.375 mg is the most I recommend

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Welcome back.

I got your question.

2.5 mg is the safest one to reduce in one step. However you are on 8.75 mg so I can recommend lowering 4.375 mg in one step maximum as safe dose. You will not have significant withdrawal with this much lowering in one step and you can easily tolerate reduction.

Hope you got your answer.

Do not hesitate to ask if you have still any doubt.

Take care.
