How To Cope Up With Acyclovir Side Effects?

default
Posted on Wed, 9 Apr 2014
Question: Hi again, I visited with the infectious disease doctor--three were no active lesions so,she could not do,a swab test. I will return to her office when it recurs. She prescribed 200mg of acyclovir orally and I have been taking that for three days. It is causing some of the same side effects (mainly headache) but much less than the Valtrex..i wonder if the side effects will dissipate after time or if I should discontinue use. Can't call her until Monday. What do you think?

Brief Answer: continue acyclovir Detailed Answer: Hello Mild side effects are common with any anti viral. you can continue with the medication. Just take some anti histamine tablet in addition. You can take tablet cetrizine daily one. This will control the side effects of acyclovir. Let me know if you have any other doubts or if you develop any other symptoms. Thank you

Brief Answer: Stop acyclovir Detailed Answer: Hello Five days of acyclovir is more than enough. You can stop it now and continue with ointment acyclovir. Lysine supplements have no role in viral disease. Better take vitamin B complex supplements. It helps in healing and improving body's immunity. Thank you
