Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Depending on the type of spine surgery, exercises can be started in a graded fashion-mild exercises after one month to advanced exercises after 1 year. This is because spine(bone) healing occurs well, latest by 1 year after surgery.

I recommend that you should discuss with your operating surgeon, on opinion for what exercises he allows you at this time.It should be an integrated approach of your spine surgeon and your physical therapist.

I hope that you must be having some further questions.I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

What about using my treadmill at 2 miles per hour with no incline. I want to watch golf DVDs.

Brief Answer:
It can be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Treadmill use at these parameters is fine,as almost one month has passed post surgery. Just take care that you don't put your body to twisting, bending or stooping.

However, your treating surgeon's opinion on this should be taken as final.

If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
