How Should Severe Side Effects Of Tramadol Be Managed Along With Alternative Medication For Pain?

Question: Hello,
My wife 60 years old, 130 lbs and in generally good health was prescribed Tramadol 50mg at the ER after having a wrist fracture reduction. Approximately 8 hours after taking the first Tramadol she began experiencing many of the symptom described on WebMD as Tramadol side effects including fainting for about 30 seconds. We are discontinuing Tramadol.

She was also prescribed Tylenol along with the Tramadol.

Are there any other alternatives for severe pain management? She was also prescribed Tylenol along with the Tramadol.

Brief Answer:
Aleve can help along with Tylenol.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The pain in bone fracture is often sever and proper reduction and immobilization can reduce the pain in a week. Tylenol alone can help only in the mild pain. You can add Aleve after meals for better relief. In case the pain is persistent then do consult her orthopedist and get pain killers like Ketorolac or Meloxicam prescribed.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.
