Question: After 18 weeks of sexual exposure with one commercial sex worker I had HIV test. Result was negative.
It was 3rd Generation antibody test. Test method was Enhanced chemiluminescence.
Is it a modern 3rd generation Antibody Test?
Is this result final?

Many doctors in this site claiming 6 months test is conclusive.
Very much contradicting with each other.
One doctor said to me that since 2004 HIV antibody test window period changed from 6 months to 3 months.
On whom to believe? I am in extreme stress. Is my test a Modern HIV antibody test?

In normal conditions for a normal person, window period does not exceed 12 weeks in my experience in HIV field of past 25 years. Only in people who are on steroids, other immune suppressive drugs and cyto-toxic drugs and those who had taken irregular PEP (ART drugs), the window period can get extended up to 6 months.
So your test is very much conclusive Nothing to worry.
