How Old Is Too Old For Dental Implants?
Question: Hi,
I have a query regarding dental treatment of my father.
He has only 1 upper left molar, 1 molar on right upper, 1 molar lower left and no molar on lower right.
Apart from this he has the upper and lower incisor teeth in good condition. Also one lower right canine is there.
My question is that, can we go for permanent denture without implant. The dentist in our city says that he can make a cantilever for missing molar.
Can you please suggest? He also has undergone knee transplant one year ago. He don't have sugar and BP but has cholesterol. Also if there is need for implant than will it be suitable for him to undergo this procedure.
His age is 65.

As you are asking for implant yes he can go for implant also as there is nothing to be worried as he dont have blood sugar and BP and as implant is initially developed for older patients so you can see there is no problem with age of patient and cholestrol history .
For your father in my opinion I will suggest you can go for permanent denture for upper right , left and lower left quadrant and Implant supported denture in lower right arch on molar region as it has good beneficial stability then cantilever molar and less jaw bone resorption as far as I have seen in patients .
