Brief Answer:
yes, the spitting is normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

Babies demand the feed on their on. It is absolutely normal that you feed him every 1.5 hours and he takes 4 ounces in a day.

The stomach capacity of babies increase slowly as they grow. Gradually the spitting will reduce. However it is completely normal for baby to spit at this age.

As long as baby is playful and gaining weight, there is no need to worry.
Try that he burps after every feed.
You can also keep a thin pillow under his upper body after feed when he sleeps.

If the baby becomes lethargic, cries excessively, does not appear to gain weight, appears dehydrated, then you must consult you paediatric specialist.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask further.
Take care.
