Question: I have been taking 50 mg of losarten for 2 weeks now , I cannot sleep get very hot at night, very nauseated and weak how long will this take to get better BP is down . Email YYYY@YYYY
Brief Answer:
Should have been a lot better already!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these rather severe and very disturbing side effects of losartan that you are experiencing. I would have expected them to get better already given the fact that you have taken the drug for two weeks. This does not seem to be the exact scenario.
There are several drugs out there that can be used to treat high blood pressure. If losartan should continue to cause similar symptoms in the next 1 week, I will suggest that your doctor should consider switching to other anti hypertensive medications that can still get your blood pressure well controlled. If I may ask, what are your blood pressure numbers before and after starting this treatment
In all, I expect these side effects to get better. If this fails within a week, I will suggest that you be switched onto another drug to spare you all these very troubling symptoms.
I hope this helps. I wish you well and feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be. Thanks for using our services.

Brief Answer:
This is great response to treatment!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this information.
This is a very good response to treatment and I feel bad why the side effects would be this terrible when the drugs seems working marvels for you. However, if the symptoms don't get better, we would have no option but to go on and look for what can work well without causing terrible side effects.
I wish you well. Keep me updated with the progress.

Thank you , for responce, I need some sleep wake up every hour nights, I take xanax 025 mg , don't help much, try to take a nap during Day sleep half hour with feeling bad.
Brief Answer:
Please, when did you start having insomnia?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks fro following up with me.
When did you start having sleep difficulties? If it were after starting losartan, I will not want to prescribe another medication to address this, There are many drugs out there that can help control blood pressure without necessarily causing these symptoms. However, if you had this sleep difficulty before this new medication, then we may want to take a look at this and see how to address it.
I will lean more towards switching from this medication rather than prescribing many other drugs to cause difficulties resulting from a single medication which can be easily substituted.
I wish you well. Let me hear what your answer and thoughts are on this.
