Question: I am not sure that my message typed an hour ago has reached you, so I shall repeat it. About 6 months ago I fractured my vertebrae and my pain is still there. In the early stages I was on endone then norspan 10 patches but there has been no relief . My doctor has been reluctant to give me any more pain medicine but am wondering if you can suggest any other treatment I could use, after 6 months surely I should be improving.
Forgot to mention am also taking lyrica for the pain

Pain will gradually reduce, analgesic, vitamin D and alprazolam are of help

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Your vertebral fracture has likely united till now. But it may be possible that it has not consolidated ( become solid) till now. Pain will gradually reduce. You can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Lyrica is generally given for neurogenic pain, so looking to your age you may also be having neurogenic pain. You are having sleep disturbances so it will be useful to take alprazolam for sleep disturbances. Sometimes such pains are due to vitamin D deficiency and weak bones, looking to your age you are likely to be benefitted by vitamin D supplements.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
