How Long Does Cocaine Remain In The System?
Question: I am a weekly cocaine user that has not taken the drug in 95 days . I shaved my head bald after the clean 35 days. I currently have about an inch of hair on my head. Will I test negative?

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
The hair which is on your head had started growing at 35th dah and its only just over 3 months that you have stopped taking cocaine . Now research says that the cocaine appears in hair untill three months from its last usage whivh is also plus minus 1 month . Its difficult to say but going by my experience, cocaine is genrally seen even beyond 3 months from its last usage . In short the test may come positive. However individual variations exist and I would like to wish you best of luck.

The way I understand it the by product of cocaine which is what they test for would be completely out of my body within 20 days on the high end. Therefore there is nothing in my body to be marking the hair.
I gave it 15 more days to grow out and then shaved it. There is nothing in my body to be marking the fresh hair positive.
How could it test positive if there is nothing there?

Please try to understand that you have a short hair and going by calculations 1/2 inch represents 30 days. You have an approx one ich hair and it represents 60 days. Now the drug and its by products stay in body for 15-20 days and then the same can grow from follicle and appear in the hair in 10-15 days time.
This brings us to an approx days of 85 days - 95 days. Now this is ideal circumstances when body behaves as we have read in theory.
However our body varies from person to person and it is generally practically seen that cocaine does appear in hair even beyond 90 days.
Also I would like to clarifiy that its not only the scalp hair. If the hair is short the sampler would like to collect other body hairs as well.
