Brief Answer:
Chlamydia can take 6 weeks to develop and more than one sexual intercourse

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection and about 1 in 5 people who have sex with a partner having chlamydia will get the infection.

2. Many people with the infection do not have symptoms and are unaware of the infection until they get tested.

3. The infection can take up to 6 weeks to develop in humans. Therefore it is possible that in September the infection was still developing inside you.

4. Chlamydia can be easily treated and cured with antibiotics taken for about a week. Both partners are to be treated at the same time and they should avoid sex for a week during treatment to prevent spreading the infection to partners.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
