How Long Does Oxycodone Remain In The Body?

Question: I am a pain management patient. I am prescribed Opana ER 20 mgs 2x per day & tramadol 100 mgs 3x per day. I won't go into details of my diagnosis as it seems of little importance on this matter. My pain levels were up this month. I mistook my medication... as in took too much a couple of days. We had bad weather & that makes things worse. I'm not making excuses here. I knew I should call my Dr. I have an appt later in May so thought I could discuss these issues & medications then. Today I received my rxs on paper from his office along with a random drug screen that I must take within 48 hours. This is not a simple dip test. They check the levels of the medications I am prescribed. I'm not sure if they test for other things. The order states "long term drug use" as it always does. I ran out of my medications 2 days ago. Stupidly I accepted some oxycontin immediate release 10 mg pills from my aunt. Will the oxycontin show up in my urine? How long before the Opana ER is in my system enough to show up on the drug screen normal levels? I do drink only water daily. I was oddly thirsty yesterday & did drink a great deal of water. I am so worried. I'm wondering if I should not take this test & try to talk to my Dr Monday? Or should I cross my fingers and pray? I have never ever been in this situation. I have never run out of medications or failed a drug test with my Dr. Any information you may know about this type of drug test or these medications would be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Going to show up as bad.

Detailed Answer:
The oxycodone (chemical in oxycontin, percocet, etc) is different than opana and will show up as a narcotic you are not on. This is rather a big deal. It stays in the system for 3 to 7 days, taking a bit more water won't speed it out.
The OPANA is in the system immediately to hours after you've taken it. While it won't be the exact level for chronic use for about 3 to 5 doses, it will be about the right range in 2-3 doses.
Honesty is the right policy and being booted from a pain management program... g3etting into a stabilizing program like suboxone will give about the same pain relief and deal with troubling behaviors.
Lying on the other hand is the real gateway drug of progressive drug abuse and leads people to progressively be further off a reasonable situation and more into progressively bad behaviors and bad situations.
