Question: How long does it take for lexapro to be completely out of your system? I've been on 10mg for about 5 months, but the last month ive only taken about 2-3 a week and none the last week. How long till it's completely out of my system and till the side effects are gone?

Brief Answer:
It takes almost seven days

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Health care magic.

Lexapro have the half life of around 35 hours and it takes almost five half lifes to completely eliminate the lexapro from the system. The above calculation will give around one week time which is required for elimination of lexapro from the system.

However I must acknowledge that at the receptor level it can take upto four weeks. In other words for the side effects it can take upto weeks to get rid of.

I hope this answers you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.
