How Long Can Chlamydia Infection Remain Dormant?
Question: Can I have Chlamydia after 8 years? I have fathered a healthy 7 year old, my partner falling pregnant only a few months after being together.
We are trying for a second however and she has suffered 3 miscarriages. Complains of pelvic pain and my urine flow has been weak for about 6 and a half years. I thought nothing of it and have not sought any help until now.
Please help me

But based on your history ,have treatment for chlamydia and having a healthy child I think this tell us that during this period you could have been free of chlamydia and the reinfection could be after this period.

Why is the longest it could be be about 2 years? Is that if they are treated? Or does it 'go away' after 2 years without treatment? If i havent taken the course of medication properly could it be possible to have carried the infection for over 8 years? I was of the underatanding that a child is only likely to be infected during child birth and this is a 50% chance of them becomjng infected. Im also under the inpression that behavioural problems that exist in a child could be related to the fact chylamidia existed in the parents? How accurate is this?
I was never re tested after initial infection which is why i am concerned it has remained all along and the early stages when my wife and i were both younger we had no problems in conception but as we have both aged the infection has taken hold more and causing us problems (3 miscarriages) is this likely?

I say this because chlamydia is very easy treatable disease, and one course of antibiotics is usually enough, as well based on that you have taken the course of medication properly exist a very low possibility to have carried the infection for 8 years.
Symptoms that continue after treatment are probably caused by another chlamydia infection rather than treatment failure.
Usually it is known that an untreated chlamydia during pregnancy, has a chance up to 50% that could pass the infection on the baby and if this happens, the baby may develop an eye and ear infection and lung infection or being born prematurely but not behavioural problem.
Yes after an untreated chlamydia you can have complications that with the passing the time could be more severe.
