Brief Answer:

Short term use is up to a month

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Because there is a risk of side effects with very long term use, steroids for arthritic pain (at the low dose you are using), can be taken for up to a month at a time to help with pain relief.

This is considered short term use.

Would need to taper off if you are using it for this period of time.

There are some persons who use it for longer combined with other medications for relief but this should only be done if being repeatedly assessed by your doctor.

This would be to assess for any possible complications that can occur.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
