How Is Gonorrhoea Contracted?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: My brother is too upset and nervous to ask so I'm going to ask for him. He was diagnosed with gonorrhea a week ago and is terrified to tell his wife. He swears that he has not been unfaithful to her and I believe him. They've been married for 6 years and he loves her so much. I told him that she needs to get tested and that he will need to tell her. Is it possible that the STD was dormant (before they married?) or that he contracted it some other way?

Brief Answer:
Gonorrhea, Sexually Transmitted, Unlikely premarital. Recent coitus

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Gonorrhea is always a result of sexual contact, including oral, anal or vaginal intercourse. And its dormancy before marriage is not possible . It transmits sexually and is likely due to some recent unprotected coitus likely. He and his partner both needs evaluation and treatment accordingly. A week antibiotics in combination and abstinence from sex and using protection in case necessary is all he needs. Exchange of saliva like kissing may also transmit it so not allowed till management.

As far as who got it from who is concerned i am afraid answer to that will come after screening of both the partners and any third party as it is unlikely in monogamous relationship.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
