Brief Answer:
too high platelets need to be evaluated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the query and understood your concern.

Platelets are responsible for blood clotting and any imbalance can cause bleedind or hyper coagulation. The excess or old platelets will be removed by spleen in our body. So our body will maintain its level.

Excess platelets may be present if there is any problem in platelets or spleen or in the production site, bone marrow. This needs to be investigated to find the cause.

So I wan to know what is your platelets value and is there any othe abnormalities or problem. This will help in diagnosing and further management.

No I can't upload any pictires here. If you want any specific photo I can help you on this.

I hope this information helps you and answered your question. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them.

Wish you good health.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

No need to worry much for high platelets that occured due to transfusion as the life span will be maximum of 8-10 hours. The platelets will be destroyed by spleen.

The real problem will be in the production of cells for which chemotherapy will be given. This will help in reducing the production.

In asymptotic patients elevated platelets requires no treatment. This will solve on its own. If it becomes deemed necessary then IFN-alfa or anagrelide will help but with significant side effects. If it is associated with bleeding then EACA will be tried. BUT ALL THESE will be given under specialist guidance since the first obligation is not to harm patients.

I hope this information helps you and answered your question. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them.

Wish you faster recovery and good health.

Regards
