How Is An Injury While Exercising Leading To Sharp Pain In My Right Calf Addressed And Treated?

Question: About 3 weeks ago I was jumping rope at my gym. The trainer asked us to lean back as we were jumping so when we landed, there was a lot of pressure on my feet and calves. At the time, everything seemed fine but later that day I developed a sharp pain in my right calf. I'ts as if I can't stand on my tippy toe while I'm standing on my right calf and I'm walking with a slight limp. I tried BenGay but it's still bothering me. Is there anything you can recommend to stop the pain so I can walk properly. Thank you

Brief Answer:
NSAIDs, Muscle relaxants, physiotherapy, ICE therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

You can take ibuprofen 400 mg thrice a day for the pain and apply wrapped ice to help lower any associated inflammation. Muscle relaxant such as tizanidine can also be added along with physiotherapy. Avoid any strenuous activity for the time being.

If the pain persists despite the above then consult an orthopedic doctor , as soon as possible.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
