How Efficient Is Rubber Band Technique In Treating Haemorrhoid?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Mar 2016
Question: I have hemorrhoids. I use cortisone 10 cream, 1% to control them. I was told by a doctor at my gym that prolonged use of this cream is not healthy. In the past I had hemorrhoids treated by the rubber band technique. My present doctor at my HMO feels this method is too painful, although it seem to take care of the problem. Do you recommend this rubber band method or should I continue with the cream.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
rubber band more efficient

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
In every case, rubber band is much more efficient than steroid cream. This is more invasive method of course but degree of pain can only you determine, not your HMO. If this wasn tpainful first time then wont be next. Also, if this is recuring hemorhoids then surgery may be considered and then it will be solved permanently. Wish you good health. Regards
