Question: Dear Doctor,

I am 26 years old newly married woman of XXXXXXX origin residing recently in Israel, and I am suffering from UT infection for last few days. I am taking Norflox TZ instead of Norfloxacin as I have been treated by Norfloxacin before for the same problem. Is it okay to take Norflox TZ for this problem? Or can you suggest something else for this problem.

Best Regards

Brief Answer:
the tinidazole part of the medication would not be helpful

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The norfloxacin part of it would be helpful.

Norflox TZ is a combination of norfloxacin and tinidazole.

Norfloxacin is used to treat certain bacterial infections and tinidazole is useful for some bacterial as well as a type of organism called protozoa.
This combination is normally used for infections of the stomach and intestines.

Tinidazole is not normally used in urinary tract infections and would not be helpful but the other part of the medication the norfloxacin may help.

There are other antibiotics as well such as septra, amoxicillin , augmentin, ciprofloxacin, nitrofurantoin.
All of these can be used in this type of infection.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
