Brief Answer:
It improves muscle strength

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Spurs in back spine is due to instability. So it is a sign of weak muscles. When you do physiotherapy it will improve muscle strength and it will provide support to spine . That leads to decrease in back pain. Though there is no change in spurs on x ray.
Along with physiotherapy muscle relaxant like myoril or myospaz is also helpful in back pain. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
