Brief Answer:
Not looking like herpes, herpes pcr DNA test is normal

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have reviewed the attached photographs and it doesn't look like herpes infection.
Even your Herpes pcr DNA test is normal.
It is looking like dermatitis.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for 7-10 days.

Dr Asmeet

is that the right test to take for herpes though ? I heard the DNA can't be detected in the blood from what I read online ? since it's a virus of the nerves ... is it not jock itch? the first picture I posted is a bump that's inflamed

Brief Answer:
Its right test, not looking like jock itch

Detailed Answer:
Yes its the right test.
The detection of IgG and IgM antibodies by ELISA test for both HSV 1& 2 would be better.
Its not looking like jock itch.
That bump is looking like a folliculitis.
Apply neosporin ointment on the affected area.

I had that igg/ igm test done. I had sex march 1st and got neg igm for both but equivocal of 1.02 for hsv2 igg march 19th. took the same test again march 26th and got 1.01 igg for hsv2 which is equivocal and the number went down. then I took the pcr blood test march 29th because I had gotten equivocal twice. I was told that test is better than the antibody test.
