Brief Answer:
Regestrone not used for abortion

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Regestrone is norethisterone and it does not helps to abort the pregnancy, rather if pregnancy is continued after its consumption, then chances of congenital anomaly is increased in the fetus. Moreover, it should not be taken by the breastfeeding mother.
She can go for medical method of abortion which includes two drugs mifepristone and misoprostol, under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.
She can safely wait till next one week to take these drugs, as they are effective upto 7 weeks of pregnancy. Therefore, I suggest her to wait till tomorrow and then consult an OBGYN specialist so that she can be properly examined, an ultrasound can be done to confirm intrauterine pregnancy and drugs can be given under supervision.

Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Medical method preferred

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX thanks for responding. Curetting is not a good method for such an early pregnancy. Moreover, please convey to me whether your wife had a normal or caesarean delivery so that I can give you complete information.
Pull out method is not a good method of contraception as it has a very high failure rate.
You can use condom or your wife can take progesterone only contraceptive for effective contraception.
Please do get back to me with the information, if feasible.Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma

Lastly I want to ask, what precaution should we take, after taking that tablets for aborting the feotus as my baby is on mothers milk?
Whether we will have to avoid feeding on that particular day,or it has a some specific time to not to feed after thanking that tabs?

Brief Answer:
breastfeeding not contraindicated

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX she can go for medical or surgical method of abortion, but medical method is recommended at this gestation.
There are no known effect of these drugs on breastfeeding, however not much studies have been done on the breast feeding mothers using these drugs.
She can decrease the frequency of breast feeding on the days she takes these drugs. Moreover, your baby must be top fed by now, so the number of meals can be increased for few days.
