Brief Answer:
Anovate cream and sitz bath are very helpful in reducing pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thank you for choosing healthcare magic. Pain during stools is described as the worst pain one can have. Pain is due to the following :
1)anal fissure
2) hemorrhoids when infected
3)perianal abscess
Anal fissure is the most common cause. The following are treatment recommendations for anal fissure:
1)plain hydrocortisone can't help much. So ANOVATE cream is recommended to be applied twice daily.
2)Anovate cream contains local anesthetic along with steroid that helps in pain relief and healing of fissure
3)prevent hard stools by drinking atleast 10 -12 glasses of water in a day, eating high fibre food like fruits, nuts and vegetables.
4)A laxative is advised syrup LOOZ or lactulose 10-15 ml at bed time is helpful in stool loosening.
5)Taking a tub of warm water and adding some betadine and sitting in the tub for 10-15 min is recommended. It is called sitz bath. It is to be done 2-3 times daily.
6)straining at stools is to be avoided.
7)chronic cough if present is to be treated as it can increase abdominal pressure and lead to straining at stool.
If the above treatment doesn't show any improvement even after 3 days, you may consult a surgeon for further management.
Hope i have answered your question. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you. Take care.
