Question: Sir I m of 19(male) and about 5'4 inches sir please give me best suggestions...how do I increase my height.. this feeling is so bad of looking so small in front of all

Welcome to health care magic,

Height is determined by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

Human growth is regulated by somatotropin (human growth hormone) which is secreted by anterior pituitary gland, which gradually subside after adolescence.

Bones grow by contribution of new bone from growth plates at each end of long bones. After adolescence these get ossified & there after no further growth is possible.

Thus height of females or in case of males, stops to increase further at the age 16 to 17 years and 17 to 18 years respectively.

I am sorry, to say that as you are already 19 years old, no further increase in height is possible after this age.

Some unauthorized sources make fake premises in this regard but they are of no benefit rather may harm your health.

Some such treatments are exorbitantly costly also. I think you have reasonable height and can further increase by the use of high heal shoes to improve your look.

Also,there is no medications that can be used safely to increase height after you have reached your maximum genetically determined height (which is around 18 years).

Although some orthopaedic surgeons or hospitals claim to increase the length of bones by applying traction (called as Ilizarov surgery) and thus height but all these are related to bone itself.

Further,I would recommend to eat a healthy diet with an adequate milk and protein content and reduced sugars and fats with regular exercises for overall good health and well being.

But keep in mind than it will NOR help to increase your height.I don't want to give you false hopes as this is the FACT.

Increasing height after the age of 18 to 19 is quite a challenging task or it is next to impossible to increase after 19 years so there is no question about possibility to increase up to 23.

After attaining puberty, the long bones of the body stop growing further as their growing ends FUSE with the bone.

These bones then attain a PERMANENT size.

There are many pills or injections are available through internet which claim to increase height but their effect is doubtful and I would NOT recommend to waste your time, energy and money on them.

Regular yoga practice is known to help in improvement of the posture and ease tension in the body which, in turn, can help make a person feel taller.

Several Yoga positions can help to maximize these effects. So you can consult some yoga trainer.

Drinking milk,stretching and proper sleep can increase height as the secretion of growth hormone is increased during the sleep especially in the early morning hours.You can try it.

Take diet rich in protein, calcium and vitamins. Prescription growth hormones might help you along with low dose steroids but you will have to consult endocrinologist before taking any such products as these do need a careful monitoring to avoid any overdose and side effects.

You can use calcium (tab.Shelcal) and multivitamins (cap. A to Z) once daily as a supplement.You can do yoga regularly.

But keep in mind there will be no effect on height because of these supplements.
