Posted on Mon, 28 Nov 2022
Question: Hello, from past few days I am dealing with a low self esteem issue. Most of the time I think of my life purpose and just want to pass the time until I alive. I feel like hopeless. Not sure how to boost my mood. I have no urge left to do or try something new. Procrastination is what I do mostly. Can you help?

Brief Answer:
I think you are dealing with depression

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I read your query and understand your concerns.

From the available description, there appears that you are dealing with depression. The symptoms in form of low mood, low self-esteem, excessive worries, finding it difficult to pass time, motivation and procrastination all favor the diagnosis of depression.

As I can see that the depression is of mild grade which can be helped without the use of antidepressants. The options include psychotherapy and nutritional supplements.

Since it is never possible to give psychotherapy in question and answer format I feel using nutritional supplements can be considered to uplift the mood and to deal with depression.

The options among nutritional supplements include 5 HTPn which is available that can strength and can be started with one tablet per day followed by two tablets per day after one week.

The other option is L threonine which can also be used in a similar manner as described for 5HTPn.

In case you have already tried the nutritional supplements I feel visiting psychiatrist is the next best option.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
