How Contagious Is The Genital Herpes?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jan 2015
Question: Hi ... my first name is XXXXXXX I'm 61 years old and in a new relationship. I have 2 issues: 1) I contracted the Genital Herpes virus from husband #2, at least 30 years ago. It hasn't been an issue in my relationships up until now. The man I'm seeing now, is very apprehensive to go down on me or to have sex without a condom. How transmutable is this disease and what is the likely hood that he could get it from me? I maybe get outbreaks (like once every few years) and then maybe once a year, I just have flu like symptoms. Other than that, I am not bothered by it. I also take Acyclovir daily. So, what can I tell him? I don't want to lose him or any other potential in the future.
#2.. My libido seems to be dwindling. I have never had an orgasm with a man, but usually, with the help of a vibrator, can bring myself to orgasm. I believe that the reason I can't achieve orgasm with a partner is due to psychological issues: growing up thinking sex is dirty and only bad girls do those things! Wow.... what a trip. I know, logically, that this is a bunch of baloney, but I'm afraid of coming in front of a man. I'm afraid of losing control....up until now. Now, all I want is to have an orgasm with my partner, & I still can't. I probably am trying too hard, maybe not relaxed enough.... I don't know. We smoked some pot the other night and I was very relaxed and absolutely loving what he was doing for me. I even got to the point of coming and then it left me. I am also having a harder time achieving it for myself, when I am alone. I am taking Progesterone and Estrogen because I had a total hysterectomy at age 36. I also take anti depressants for bi-polar disease. If you need the names, I can supply them for you. I have been on anti depressants since age 30, s0 31 years. Can this be one of the problems? If so, is there something I can take or do to help my libido. I am highly sexed with this new man in my life, but not being able to come all the way is discerning to both of us. Can you help me?
Thanks XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Please tell me the name of medicines.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for choosing HCM

1- First the issue of Herpes. You know it can not be cured in the sense the virus is going to stay in you body. It will become contagious when your immunity level goes down, as while you have flu. There can be no surety that you will not transmit the virus so using a condom is a wise option, Acyclovir only helps to reduce viral shedding when there is active lesion.

2- yes, your mental disease especially Depressive phase as well as the medicines used to treat it can cause reduced libido.

I shall help if you can tell me more about your mental state as well as names of medicines.
