Brief Answer:

Topical steroid, moisturising lotion and antihistaminic.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Extreme dryness leads to itching.

If I was her treating doctor I would recommend her to apply a topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream (tenovate cream) diluted in a moisturising lotion (moisturex soft lotion) in the ratio of 1:3 twice daily on the legs and take antihistaminic like tablet Levocetirizine once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.

Also avoid using harsh soaps, avoid hot water for bathing and use lukewarm water and avoid wearing woollen or synthetic clothes in direct contact with the skin.

These measures will help in resolving her problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
