Posted on Thu, 14 Sep 2023
Question: 25 year old female with severe joint pain that moves from one joint to another and that has come on over the last few days. Had gone to family doctor for coughing up green exudate and sent to a lung specialist a week ago and was treated with a steroid and antibiotic injection and sent home with Singulair and Symbacort and Zpac. Blood count in the ER yesterday showed elevated white count. No headache, no rash, still coughing some, but not green. No one is coming up with a diagnosis.

Brief Answer:
It is good news that you are not coughing out any green exudate

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have read your history in details, but please let me know if you have swelling and redness in joints?

Please, could you send me an attached picture of your lab result and chest X-ray (if you have done)?

It is good news that you're coughing some with no green exudate because this is a good sign of recovery.

As per the severe joint pain, please note that when the pain stops and moves to a joint in another part of your body, you may be experiencing migratory arthritis.

I hope my answer helps you.

Please revert back with the details so that I can assist you better.

No swelling or redness of the joints. Chest xray showed "fairly clear" last week. No copy of the blood work were given.

Brief Answer:
I suggest meeting a Rheumatologist.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I'd suggest meeting a Rheumatologist for a better diagnosis regarding the severe joint pain. This seems like a condition where further extensive testing needs to be done along with clinical check-ups by a Specialist (Rheumatologist mostly).

I hope my answer helps you.
