Question: I have hardened whitish skin that has formed across on bottom edge of my clitoris. Started with a red lump (like a blood blister) now its smaller more like scar tissue. Doesn't hurt but a bit sensitive if it mess with it. Been there a few months so not going away.Also dry hard skin patches (in a small line) on the vestibule near the top. that's been there a few weeks.sort of itchy but I think I make it worse by investigating,

Lichen planus is an inflammatory condition of the skin, mucous membranes.
Lichen planus can affect the genital area.
It usually present as red bumps/rash/blisters of the skin followed by scarring, thickening and whitish appearance of the area associated with itching/burning sensation.

Diagnosis can be confirmed just by physical examination. If not, a biopsy can confirm the diagnosis.
Lichen planus responds well to topical corticosteroids.
