Question: My Grandson got stung on his hand by a large black bee yesterday at the park. I have put Calamine Lotion on, sprayed Bactine on, given him Benadryl and nothing is helping. We drew a line around the area yesterday and today the infection has surpassed this.

Brief Answer:
He should be given anti inflammatory tablets.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Because of the bite, he might have developed inflammation of that area. He should be given anti inflammatory tablet twice daily after food.

I also add Antibiotic like Amoxicillin and anti allergic tablet like Levocetirizine to my patients with similar complaints to prevent infection and allergic manifestation respectively.
Please do not apply or spray anything over the bite area.
Nothing to worry. It will come down.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further. Wish you good health.

Regards
