Brief Answer:
Breast milk and slow introduction to other foods

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. Some babies do not take too well to baby food and it may take longer for them to get know and like new foods. In such case the only approach is to go on breastfeeding and have the baby decide when they want to try new foods. Have the baby sit next to you on a high chair every time you have your meals and let him or her observe you while you eat. This will start their curiosity to try a new food. The best way is to introduce one food at a time. This will also help identify any food the baby doesn’t like and is allergic to and try to avoid it in the future.
If despite this, the baby continues to refuse food and throw up after each feed I recommend you see a pediatrician for further evaluation, as this might be something more than just a preference.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Take care

Brief Answer:
Tongue-thrust reflex

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Given the fact that you have taken the baby to the doctor and nothing was found to be out of order, I think you should not force or try to get them to eat solids.

Some babies are not ready to be started on solids even at 11 months. This is related to the tongue-thrust reflex that babies are born with. This reflex causes babies to thrust their tongue when something enters their mouth. It is a defense mechanism to protect them from choking when they are very little and it is usually lost by six months, however this is only an average. Some babies retain this reflex until they are one year old.

For now breast milk and/or formula should suffice and when your baby will be ready he/she will let you know.

I recommend you weigh the baby regularly to make sure he/she is gaining weight normally.

I hope this helps.

Take care
