default
Posted on Fri, 12 May 2017
Question: yes I have been on augmentin and clindymycin for sinus and ears have been buzzing , doctors say fluid is gone but could still have something going on in inter ear lots of pressure still. Would a z-pak be a good step just to make sure of whats going on? They had to take me off both antibiotics they were not working. On 2nd round of prednisone and it's not working great either. Some relief but not quit doing it.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HealthCareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
You are having middle ear infection due to sinusitis.
You should take an oral decongestant tablet twice daily and a nasal spray.
Stop steroids.
Take steam inhalation and chew a gum.
This will help to open the eustachian tube and buzzing will subside.
No need to take any more antibiotics if fluid has cleared from middle ear.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks and regards
