Question: Hello,
My daughter, aged 2 years and 7 months. Today morning we observed a strange skin tag on her left gum in her mouth, where teeth not yet grown. It is kind of wired. Can some one help what this skin tag is?
she always stores food in her cheeks for long time at left side of her mouth mostly. is that because of that.
Thanks, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
It is a normal finding in many kids, don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi....I understand your concern. This is a common finding in many kids.

Nothing to worry about it.

It is not due to the constant chewing on the left side.

This is not an emergency, but I suggest that you consult a paediatric dentist regarding this. I am telling this because sometimes, this sort of tags can intervene in teeth eruption.

Doctor, my daughter does not swallow food normally, she always store food in her cheeks for longer time, is this a normal condition? She is also not gaining weight, she is now 2 years and seven months old, she around 27 pounds, but she is active. Can you suggest something on this?

Brief Answer:
Her weight gain is appropriate - don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi...her weight gain is excellent fit a 2.7 year old kid.

Font worry about it.

Keeping food in cheeks is normal for this age and usually occurs in over feeding when kid develops aversion to food. Please do not over feed.

Your kid is normal in weight.
